Coraline Carter had once woken up in an alien place. Instead of waking up in her warm bed and clutching Jeremiah the toy horse, Coraline had woken in a cold, damp enclosed room- a prison. She had spent such a long time in there, she had clawed at the walls and cried until finally her daddies came and found her. That had been the worst day on her time on the island, much worse than the time when she had woken as a boy.
Coraline learned from her experiences. She learned not to blindly run in temples when the floor could give way, she learned not to trust creepy mothers who wanted to give you everything and she learned that when you go to bed, you prepare just in case you find yourself in the bad place again. So, she wasn't in the bad place this time but she certainly wasn't in her bed and she was greatful for the wellington boots she wore to bed because the ground would have been cold and damp and hard against bare feet.
"Hello?" Coraline called out, wiping her eyes tiredly as she stretched and yawned. This wasn't her hut and she couldn't see Adam anywhere. He was going to be very angry with her when he found her bed empty again. "Hello? Adam? Is anyone there?"
Coraline walked through the bushes before pausing as she heard a rather loud roar. That sounded like a dinosaur. That sounded like a dinosaur! Oh, wow. She was in dino territory. Oh, bugger Adam was going to kill her. Well, if he was going to kill her anyway at least she could go and have a proper look at the dinosaurs.
"Hello? Mister dinosaur? I won't hurt you," Coraline said as she wandered off towards unknown dangers.

Cassie had been lucky. She'd been up for her morning workout when suddenly the world has blurred around her and she found herself face to face with some small bird looking dinosaur. In a very in superhero like moment, Cassie had screamed and run in the other direction as quickly as she could.
She'd stopped to catch her breath when she heard Coraline's calling for Adam. She moved in the direction she'd heard the other girl's voice. "Coraline? Is that you?"
no subject
"Cassie?" Coraline called out, looking around for the sight of a familiar face. Coraline smiled, sniffing as she spot Cassie. "I'm going to be in a lot of trouble when Adam finds me gone. Did I sleepwalk? I've never sleepwalked before."
no subject
"No sleepwalking, kid, so I think Adam will give you a break. I was awake when it happened. One minute I was doing crunches, the next I was face to face with a dino. It's just the island being dumb." She wrinkled her nose at the dilemma they were in. "Now we just have to figure out how to get back." And depsite the thrill of seeing the dinosaurs, she did want to go back. She didn't want Anatoly or Chekov or Kon to worry about her or, worse, think she disappeared.

A loud roar made her freeze. That didn't sound like any creature she knew of, but she had heard of 'Dino territory' and while the thought of exploring it was appealing-she didn't want to go like this.
Felicity quickly ran in the opposite direction of the roar, figuring that if she was lost she very well couldn't get lost any further.

Suddenly, something came barreling out of the underbrush right in front of them. "Wow!" Cassie called out stopping whoever, or whatever, it was. "Hang on there. You lost too?" She asked when she saw it was another lost islander.
no subject
"Felicity!" Coraline called out, her voice giving up as she waved. Coraline coughed trying to clear her throat so she could talk properly. "Cassie, this is Felicity. She's my friend. Did the other mo-the island kidnap you too?"
no subject
She nodded, trying to catch her breath. "I was on my way to the stables when I appeared here."
She held out her hand as Coraline introduced her. "Nice to meet you." Actually, it would've been better had they all not been lost and in
the rain.
Felicity then turned her attention to Coraline. "Coraline, are you ill?" She didn't sound so great, and Felicity could only think it was rotten enough for the island to kidnapp them like this: but do to so with a sick person was worse.

It wasn't like there were any carniverous dinosaurs around at the moment.

"I'll be alright, just give me a moment."
She frowned a little when she heard Coraline speak. Being outdoors was one thing, but when one was already sick was another. Felicity hesitated a moment-or two-before taking off her raincoat and holding it out to her.
"Here, tis better than nothing." It wouldn't do much to keep her dry, not when she was already soaked, but it was better than her running around in her nightclothes. Felicity's shirt was long-sleeved and offered some protection.

One more tag from Cora and Felicity then Cassie can bring a dino back on her tail?

Coraline nodded as Cassie motioned she was going to go on ahead. This was the least fun adventure she'd had. She'd expected loud noises, big battles, dinosaurs and really cool things but instead she just felt awful and wanted to go home. Well, go home after she'd seen a dinosaur of course.
"Do you think Cassie will be okay on her own?" Coraline asked curiously looking off in the direction Cassie had gone.

She resisted rubbing her arms. It wasn't that the weather was cold, it was just that being soaked just made her feel chilled.
As to to her friend's question, she really didn't know. Cassie seemed very accomplished during school, but that couldn't be the same as outside with nothing but the clothes on their backs.
"I should think so." She answered, trying to keep positive. "She wouldn't have suggested going on her own if she wouldn't be."
Of course, it could've just been that she saw the two of them as children-even though Coraline was 13 and Felicity well on her way to being that age.

Cassie scouted ahead a little ways then climbed a tree to get a look around. She saw the mountain and tried her best to figure out the best way back to the non-dino infested part of the island, all the while looking out for signs of dinosaurs. Once she had a plan, she dropped down out of the the tree and froze as she felt the tell tale signs of something watching her. Apparently, while she'd been looking for dinos far out, she'd missed the rather tall one that was now scooping her out from about 40 feet away.
"Crap," she said under her breath, before taking a deep breath and taking off into the jungle, in the opposite direction from Coraline and Felicity. She ran and ducked and hid in trees until she thought she'd lost it. With a sigh of relief, she headed back to where she'd left the other two girls.
"Alright, I think I know..." She began when she heard a familiar cry in the jungle behind her. Apparently, she hadn't lost the dinosaur after all. "Forget what I know! Up in the tree now!" Cassie said urgently, as she pulled the girls up and began helping them up into a nearby tree.

How she managed to not trip over the branches and roots was anyone's guess, but it wasn't something she thought of at the moment: she only thought of getting away as she scrambled up the tree. Her shoes slipped against the surface of tree, and she had to mostly resort to gripping onto the branches.
Under different circumstances, she would've thought that the gymnastics class had finally come in handy.

Coraline pulled herself up into the tree, glad for once that she climbed trees often despite all the scratches and grazes and cuts she got. Climbing up quickly, Coraline ignored bits of tree hitting her face as she clamboured up and checked behind her to see if everyone else was up the tree safely too.
"Cassie? Felicity? Are you okay?" Coraline said clinging to the tree and watching as the dinosaur approached. Wow, that was so cool. So cool and completely terrifying. "It can't get us up here can it? Because I think Adam will tell me off quite a bit if I end up being a Coraline burger."

In Williamsburg, most of her lessons were instructional, and while this was far from learning how to be a gentlewoman as it could be, that didn't mean she lost how to learn that way. The branch above her was a bit thick, but with a grunt she managed to break it off-it wasn't a sword, but she could hardly afford to be picky.

The dinosaur loitered for a while, pacing around the bottom of the tree as if trying to figure out a way to get to them. Then, a noise in the distance seemed to catch its attention and it went off to investigate. Cassie just hoped it wasn't something for it to eat to keep it busy and not more lost islanders.
She waited a few more minutes before giving the all clear. "Okay...I think it's gone. You guys climb down, I'll keep watch just a bit longer." And so she'd be in a better position pull them back up into the tree if the dinosaur decided to come back.
no subject
The feeling didn't leave when Cassie gave them the 'all clear': it might not be all clear, the dinosuar could be in hiding and waiting for them to come back down. However, her muscles were starting to cramp from waiting in the tree for so long. She dropped the stick she was holding and carefully and slowly climbed back down.

Being quiet and careful Coraline clambored down and dropped from a low branch to the floor. She didn't shout now the dinosaur had gone, she didn't want to bring it back again.

Once both girls were on the ground and she was certain that the dinosaur wasn't coming back, Cassie began to climb down herself. It might have been how wet the wood was or the worn down tread on the bottom of her sneakers, but something caused her to slip when she put her feet on a lower branch and before she knew it, she was falling to earth. When she hit the ground with her leg at an awkward angle, the only reason she didn't scream from pain was because the wind had been completely knocked out of her to the point she could barely breath for a few long moments.
no subject
She breathed a bit easier when Coraline reached the ground-she was almost certain that she would attempt jumping-but when she saw Cassie's foot slip against a branch, she barely had time to stop herself from crying out.

Finally, biting her lip almost to point of making it bleed against the pain, Cassie pushed herself up to an almost sitting position. "I've never broken a bone before," she said softly, finally getting a good look at her leg. "But that angle isn't natural."
*flails*
She tried to ignore it as she hurried over, trying to get a better look.
"It looks broken." She said, examing it as best she could-which wasn't much given the circumstances. They had used leeches on her arm to reduce swelling, but even if there were leeches here they didn't have time to find them. "If we can reset your leg, hopefully it could hold long enough till we get some help."
She wasn't feeling to well: maybe from cold, or having not eaten, but anyone looking at her would've noticed that Felicity's complexion had taken a slightly green color. All she noticed was that she was trying to not throw up.
Re: *flails*
Coraline checked Cassie's foot and leg being careful when she touched it to check the circulation. Coraline sneezed and wiped her hands on her pants as she tried to concentrate on Cass.
"Okay, we need something to hold Cassie's foot like fabric and sticks. Cardboard is better, that's what we used in Brownies but I don't think dinosaurs have time for arts and crafts. We'll get you fixed up Cassie then we'll get you home. It'll be okay."
Re: *flails*
She took a deep breath and look at the two girls with as steady a gaze as she could manage. "It's okay. Coraline's right, we should..." She gritted her teeth for a moment, "wrap it then get going. We can't stay here unless that dino comes back."
no subject
They were right in either case, but cardboard was useless in such weather. They had fabric atleast, well, she and Coraline anyway, and they had sticks, or well, they could look for them.
She started looking for a sharp stick. "Come on, we could make bandages using strips of fabric."
no subject
"Here, we'll use this." Coraline said, holding the fabric tightly as she looked for sticks that would help. Being very gentle Coraline touched Cassies legs and started to wrap it. "It'll be okay Cassie, you'll see. And maybe when we're back you'll get lots of magical kisses, you know the kind that makes you better."
Coraline might have been thirteen but she still believed in magical kisses.
no subject
So instead, she concentrated on taking deep, even breaths until Coraline was done. "Thanks Coraline."
no subject
She set about finding sticks for them to use, setting them between the bands of fabric that Coraline wrapped around Cassie's leg.
She wondered if anyone was looking for them.
